Solid Power: Here's What To Do Now If You Missed Selling Earlier (Archive)
Deep-value SLDP faces long commercialization timelines, tightening liquidity, and tariff-driven OEM headwinds.

Elevator Pitch
- Commercialization of Solid Power's solid-state batteries may still be a decade away, and the lack of positive news development catalysts so far in FY25 may be indicative of slow progress.
- Quarterly cash burn has come in better than expectations as the company suddenly decided to cut back on project spends in Q4 FY24 – a puzzling move.
- Solid Power may have limited direct headwinds from tariffs, but indirectly, I expect a slowdown in activity as auto OEMs face budget constraints.
- SLDP is trading at deep value valuations, but liquidity levels are dwindling down. Relative technicals make it risky to continue having a bearish view.
- Overall, I have a neutral view on SLDP. Short interest levels would be something to track to gauge the upside risks from a short squeeze.
